Lagaan and Leadership

Lot of people might have seen the "Lagaan" Movie.....It teaches lot of things from leadership perspective.

Let us start when Ameer Khan challenges the British on the Cricket Play for abolishing the Tax. He raises the tempo and plays on emotions of the opponent to get them raise the challenge for maximum benefit.
First of all the villagers never played the Cricket in their life, this is like choosing complete discomfort zone, but what kept them motivated to play is the goal.

Once goal is set, it looks like impractical and unrealistic, as a leader Ameer convinces that this is achievable and portrays as a simple play....show your stakeholders and the team simple things out of complexities.

Then the key thing is selection of resources ...... design first what is the organization model, no biases...based upon expertise then fit the people accordingly....whether it is bowler or batsman.
Irrespective of creed, caste and religion..Ameer chooses his team.

Next step is get adequate training, whether it is sophisticated or rugged....you need a right coach...

Now the play starts.... Ameer walks them with confidence.... while they are unable to bowl the opposition out... He plays the tactics.. change is the key word here.. Spotting the bhola(handicapped person in the Movie) for spin bowling changes the course of the play. It is like finding your team member's core strength and leveraging for an advantage.

While opening the batting, you see Ameer leading the batting...that is like Lead by example.
Keep motivating Keep motivating till you achieve the goal.

So what is the villains got out of it... Never underestimate the competition.
